NJ wedding

I mentioned this in my last post, but two weeks ago I went up to my friend/might-as-well-be-my-cousin Barbara's wedding in NJ. The whole long weekend was a blast and I can't wait to go back! And as usual, I attempted to do "just a short post" about the trip...but had too many pictures I "just had" to include...so here's my "short" version of the trip! Lol

Friday night we took an hour and a half long train ride with crazy hockey fans :) up to Penn station in NYC, walked to Times Square, found the TKTS booth and got tickets for Phantom of the Opera half off. It was sooo good!! Afterwards we went across the street to a pizza place recommended to me by a friend...that was our first meal of the day...at 11pm! There just hadn't been time to get anything to eat until then except a SB latte at 7:15 that morning!

Saturday we helped out with wedding stuff and had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

Sunday was the wedding and it was so beautiful! :)

While everyone else turns around to watch the bride appear, I like to keep my eyes on the groom. You know the moment he sees his bride. :)

Barbara asked Michael to read a Bible passage during the ceremony.

Husband + Wife

While Barbara and Will did more pictures of just the two of them, we made a quick Target run and then headed over to the reception place...which turned out to be right across the street from Target...and was also so beautiful!

Mother/Son dance:
Aw, so sweet... :) s.b. ...u made a very handsome groom! (sorry...that is forevermore your nickname...! ha!)

I love this pic. I didn't take it. I was too busy holding that baby!

Congratulations, Barbara and Will!! I'm so excited for you! Now, hurry up and decide to move down to TN!! ;)

Barbara and Will kindly postponed their honeymoon and stuck around a couple extra days (and Becky too) to show us around NYC and Philly. There were 916 photos on my two SD cards when I got home...but don't worry!! I am not putting nearly that many on here! Lol. I condensed some of my favorites into one collage of NYC...

After Becky (Barbara's sister) expertly drove us on our driving tour of NYC, we got out and walked for a bit. And after getting properly frozen, we stopped at SB ("Ohmyword!! There is seriously a SB on every corner!!") to get warmed up...

...and, of course, so everyone could check their cell phones! Lol.

Then it was off to the Empire State Building. Cuz we just like to freeze like that. (It was cold and windy on the ground...so who wouldn't want to go 86 floors up?! HA!)

The 86th floor is between the white and blue parts. Last time I went to NYC, we went up to the top during the day. I have to say that nighttime was more awesome!

That would be Times Square. You can tell by the glow...!

Cousins. :)

Tuesday afternoon we had to fly home, but first we got a quick tour of part of Philly.

At the visitor's center.

Ben Franklin's gravesite. I did not take this pic. I do not do graveyards. Not even through a fence. Some people love to wander through them. Not me. Not ever. I have issues. :-p

Next was the US Mint and a self-guided tour.

This is what happens when someone says,
"We need to get a couple pictures of the two of you!"

Independence Hall. Or. A life-size picture of it! Ha! Obviously there was some major work going on so we saw parts of the building. Still pretty cool though.

And the Liberty Bell! Very cool.

After this we ate Philly cheese steak sandwiches...my first ever...soo good! Definitely the best way to try them - right in Philly! Sadly, I don't have that pic though. Oh well.

Then it was back on the plane and back home. And while NYC is most definitely one of my favorite places on earth to visit (so far...), and I already miss my newly-extended almost-family :), I am definitely a southern girl at heart. Even landing in Atlanta felt like getting back home. :) I love living in the south.
