update

I know some of you are waiting for a camp update from the past two weeks...and don't worry, I haven't forgotten! :) I'll get to that soon. But for now I needed to give an update!

Remember these?

And remember how Hannah and Danielle picked out the colors of their tutu so that I can have it in my etsy shop with 50% of each sale going towards their family's adoption fund?

Well, I have been checking Rachel's blog and found out that as of last Friday, they were officially put on the "waiting families" list! That in itself was exciting. Then I checked again on Wednesday and found out that they already have their referral!!! They have accepted a referral for a little girl who is four years old and who they will name Abigail. You'll have to click on the link to their blog to find out more details, but the next step is raising the money needed for the $8,300 referral fee - by next Friday! So, from now until next Friday, August 6th, I will be giving 100% of any sales of the Hannah and Danielle tutus to their family. So if you know a little girl who would love a fun tutu, pass along the word - it's going towards bringing one little girl home to her forever family! :)

one week down, one to go

Well, week one of camp is over. For "big kid camp" it was a good but rough week...including a sprained ankle, several people getting heat exhaustion and a little dehydrated, a broken foot (!), and a midnight ambulance trip for a case of croup/asthma! Satan obviously does NOT like what we are doing at camp. There are obstacles every year, but for some reason, this week seemed to be the hardest yet. I guess we're heading in the right direction of he has to try that hard to thwart what we're doing! God is faithful, however, and has helped everyone through each situation with obvious protection and provision along the way.

For me, it was an easy week - just two boys during the day and a little sister in the evenings. I was afraid my boys would get bored being the only ones at the house with me, but this year they are WAY into legos and ran up to Evan's room every second they had the chance! We went a couple places since I only had two of them during the day...but I'll write more about that later. Here is just one picture for now from making play dough together...

It got a little messy.... :} But that's ok...that's what camp is for!

Now I am running errands and getting ready for my second week...when I will have 12 girls!! (Yes, say a prayer for me if you think of it...!) :) This week is my favorite though. It is when I am reminded every year that I really do want 12 kids...which I know is funny since it would make most people realize they only want a couple! :) I love the craziness of having bunches of kiddos in the house! It's my happy spot. :)

Ok, now off to get a few groceries and get home before Uncle Mike gets here! Yay!!

Sorry this post is kind of all over the place and not very well thought out...I only had a couple minutes to stop at Boarders for internet access. I will write a more thorough post when I get back home. And update my photo blog then too... :)

Have a happy week!

kid quotes

Just a couple recent quotes from my crazy kiddos.

***************************************************************************************************************************************
LMS in the middle of lunch one day: "kiki, do you know the binomial name for a gecko??"
(after my "excuse me, WHAT?!"...she proceeds to tell me the correct binomial name for a gecko...i don't remember what it was.
Kiki: where did you learn that?!
LMS: from spiderman.
*of course!* ?!
(it was from a Tag book - kinda like a leap pad book...)

***************************************************************************************************************************************

LMG: Kiki, I sure would like to go back to those foggy hills sometime...
*puzzled look from Kiki*
LMS: she means the smoky mountains...!

**************************************************************************************************************************************

Completely serious question and comment from MH:

"Kiki, why do they call them bumblebees?? ......is it because they like to sting you on your bum??"

**************************************************************************************************************************************

And the latest one from LMG:

They were very happily playing with playdough the other day when she turns to me and says:

"Kiki, I think you're going to be one of those black and white ladies."
I scramble to think what in the world she's talking about....
K: "You mean a nun??"
LMG: "Yeah!"
...
K: "Why do think I'm going to be a nun??"
LMG: "Because! You can't find a guy to marry!!"
At which point LMS pipes up with: "Well, you know he's out there somewhere!!"

I'm so glad to know my girls are worried about my marital status...lol! :}

***********************************************************************************************************

And now it's time for THIS!!! Updates to follow. And hopefully I will get to meet a certain adorable someone **in person**!! I. Can't. Wait.!!! :)

Hope your summer is going well!
